CROSS COUNTRY TEAM

The Cross Country team just got their sweats that they have been fundraising for. The team will be working an all-you-can-eat breakfast at Club Par-X on October 30 from 8 am to noon. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under and can be bought from any member of the Cross Country team.

INTO HALL OF FAME
Mr. Nasuti played baseball, basketball and football for the Villa Novans. He was an administrator, coach and Athletic Director. He graduated from Springfield College and Providence College. He was very involved with the Special Olympics. He passed away on February 11, 2014, at the age of 52.

Last season, the girls' tennis team were very successful. They began with a 1-2 record and won 11 straight matches before losing in the Division III Semi-finals. The team was lead by co-captain Dala Khounkham who finished the season with a 11-4 record at No. 1 singles. She was also selected by the team for the sportsmanship award. Seven players were selected to the All-Division Team. On senior day the team honored three seniors: Fama Seck, Aliwan Saechew, and Dala Khounkham. The team looks forward to next season.

On Tuesday, September 15, Woonsocket played Cumberland in Unified Volleyball. The volleyball match was very exciting and there were many fans cheering on the players! Cumberland won the first game, scoring 26 points and Woonsocket scoring 23. Woonsocket came back and won the second game 25 - 15. Woonsocket then won the third game 25 - 16. The Novans won the match 2-3. The Woonsocket Unified Volleyball team has a season record of 2 - 0. The next game will be on Tuesday, September 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School.

Last year their record for the regular season was four wins and four losses. In the playoffs they beat Burrillville, a huge win because they lost both games when they played them in the regular season. In the finals they were up against Middletown. The finals were played at Johnson and Wales University on November 2nd. Not playing Middletown this season, they lost the first game and came back and won the next two games.
They were the State Champions for Unified Volleyball 2014!
